Sync to Samsung Galaxy S8+

I bought the Alta yesterday. I charged it and when I turned it on it has www.fitbit.com/setup. So I went on my phone, went to the site and eventually ended up in Google Playstore. I downloaded the app and on the screen that says to sync it always says it cannot find the device. My location and everything is on as it says to do.

This morning I tapped the screen on my fitbit and it still will only show me the battery level and continues to have www.fitbit.com/set up on it. I cannot get anywhere on the fitbit. Ive tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Ive tried resetting the fitbit. Nothing works.

Can someone help me?

Did you go into the Fitbit app, then to your account, and Set Up a Device?  That should walk you through the process.  Do not try and pair it through the bluetooth settings on the phone.  I have the Blaze and it rejects pairing through the phone's bluetooth settings.  The Blaze will sync it's data with the S8+ but it doesn't get notifications and it won't connect to the phone when you go on a run or any other Activity that needs to connect to the phone.  Waiting to see if the Ionic has the same issues or not before I shell out $300 for it.

One more tip for you, if you notice the battery on your fitbit starts to drain in less than a day or 2, you will need to make sure it syncs to your phone to upload the data it is holding.
