After the last Fitbit update (end of December 2019) my Charge 3 started losing time because it was not syncing regularly with my Google Pixel 3A. I tried all the reset and remove device things gleaned from several community forum responses. None of them resolved the issue long term. In following the advice given I noticed that both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL were supported platforms, but my Pixel 3A was not. My older phone LG K10 also was not supported. So now my only way to use my Charge 3 is with my Windows 10 laptop. I have had issues with an update before...it made my screen static and very hard to read. I am not sure what the real purpose of this last update was, but all it did for me was frustrate me, and make me wonder what the programming staff is trying to do that should have helped me. Please put some effort into not breaking what is working when you do future updates.

Hello @SJSUfit59, welcome to the Community Forums!
First, I appreciate your effort and patience for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you but I'm here to help you with this. That said, if you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your Google Pixel 3A that's preventing the syncing procedure to be smoothly completed.
Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes. Thanks for the feedback that was shared in your post, we are always striving to improve the Fitbit experience with our products and services.
Keep me posted, I'll be around if you need anything else.

Ricardo thanks for the advice. The Google Pixel 3A is presently an unsupported platform, so that problem is only solvable by the Fitbit programming staff. My laptop is Windows 10 ( supported platform ) fully updated, bluetooth equipped, etc. Still I have problems syncing at all. I am unsure if all the issues I am presently having are all caused by syncing problems, the update that made my phone unsupported or what. My Charge 3 does not maintain accurate time for even an hour after syncing. It no longer illuminates the time when I turn my wrist to look at the time. Yet somehow the dashboard on my Windows 10 laptop catches steps from the Charge 3 and my food and water entered on my Pixel 3A.

Hallo you all!
This concerns a Versa Lite: I am having same problems with Pixel and Versa Lite.
I started with Google Nexus 5x Android 9 and Versa Lite. Always all Android and app updates accepted and installed.
Sync was slow and inconsistent, but it worked. I also use regularly a FLEX 2, also syncing ok ever since I started it, ages ago.
Then I switched from Nexus 5X to Pixel 3a, still Android 9, completely unaware it was NOT in the list of supported. Could not even conceive this might be the case.
Versa lite sync and especially notices got inconsistent very much! Advise from Fitbit support was to reinstall. It improved for a short while.
Then Android 10 and 10.1 came. That is when things went seriously wrong. Difficult sync, rare notices.
Fitbit support advised dropping the Flex 2. Ridiculous.
I did a factory reset of the versa lite, and an unsistall/reinstall of app after forgetting both devices, flex2 and versa lite.
Upon reinstall of Fitbit App, I only connected the Versa Lite, and started the software update.
That is where things got really really bad. After a night of veery slow updating, the process stopped and then could not ever restart. The watch is now a brick and I am getting it replaced by Amazon (very kind of them).
Question: when I receive the replacement Versa Lite, should I WAIT for a Fitbit update OR a Android update?

From what I have read 3a does not support the Fitbit charge 3. I am not sure if it is the phone or fit it. I now have to use my old iPhone to look at my stats! This ridiculous 😠

Hallo Wyocowboy: this is a fairly old thread, and things have changed. The fitbit app now works fairly well with Versa Lite, although pixel3a is still not supported. I even got TWO firmware updates. I have two trackers, a Flex2 too, even if support said it was a problem and I should forget the flex. Maybe you should give it a try after being sure you have latest; or maybe cancel watch, delete app, reinstall and reconnect watch. Current app is 3.19.2 (build 20243497)

So, I finally tried again with my Charge 3 Fitbit and Pixel 3a. First I got my old Charge 3 Fitbit with the streaking screen to sync on a regular basis, keeping good time, etc. Then I decided to try with the Charge 3 without those problems. This Fitbit has been working well again for a while, and syncs to my phone with no issues. My laptop is out of the loop, which is easier to manage. I am not sure what changed. I encourage you to keep trying as your patience allows.

This is so frustrating for me. I thought my fitbit Alta HR was broken. It had stopped working with my Pixel 3a on May 13 2020. So I went and bought another Alta HR, only to find out that it doesn't sync with my Pixel either! Ugh! My fitbit was fine it was the device support that was a problem. I really liked the idea of fitbit, but now that Google owns them, and they don't support Google phones, I am done with them!

I've been syncing successfully with the Pixel 3a and my Versa (original) for over a year, and then all of a sudden last Friday it stopped. I can get it to sync if I unpair and re-pair, but it only continues to sync for anywhere between a few minutes and a few hours and then stops syncing again. I contacted Fitbit and they said the Pixel 3A isn't supported so I should try a different (supported) device. I'm doing that with my iPad now. It synced when I first installed the app, so I'll come back to it in an hour or two and see if it continues to sync. What a pain, I can't believe that I now have to restrict myself to only certain phones that Fitbit supports if I want to ensure reliability?

Oops, well, it only did that first sync, and now that I look at Fitbit's supported devices my iPad isn't even supported, I need to have an iPad Pro, and iPad Air, or an iPad Mini. Just a regular iPad won't do! So I guess I'm screwed. 😞

Does anyone know if this issue has been fixed?
I had a charge 2 which stopped synching with my Pixel 3a in December, so I presumed the fitbit was broken.
I bought a Versa and it synced perfectly, but it has since stopped syncing! I don't understand why it will sync to begin and then stop.

Yep mine just quit working 2 weeks ago. It had worked for more than a year. I used my Charge 2 to lose over 30 pounds keeping track of calories all of last year and now it just quit. I tried to sync my wife's charge 2 and it will not sync either. I think I'm done with fitbit.

I contacted support about it, heard nothing, and then today I received a 50% off voucher for a brand new fitbit. I think they must be aware of issues with them or they wouldn't have sent me such a significant voucher?
I bought a secondhand versa 2 after my charge died. I experienced synching issues with that too (for 1-2 weeks) but its since worked perfectly. I think it might have been a Pixel 3a issue which perhaps got fixed in an update (as Google bought Fitbit, you'd think their phones would work with them!)

Not fixed, got even worse with more and more people struggling (different watches, different devices)

Long lasting issue. I wouldn't buy a new one even with 90% off, since they can't sort it out. I wouldn't pay them a cent 😒
