I am very disappointed that my Alta won't sync with my new Samsung galaxy tab a tablet, nor my Motorola phone. It did sync with my former Samsung tablet. Is my only option to get a different brand of tracker?

I appreciate the information and details that were shared in your post. You may be experiencing syncing difficulties with your new tablet because such device is not compatible with our products and services, as shown on our compatibility list. Therefore, even though your device are not compatible, I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your Android mobile device that's preventing the syncing procedure to be completed.
Also, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes. Please make sure that your Motorola mobile device is listed as a compatible device too.
