I'm sorry but in everything I have found to read about this sycning probelm...it says there is going to be no fix and also refers to a thread from 2014-2015, For a lot of us this is a new issue , mine only started a few weeks ago. So why are we being refered to a problem and thread from over a year ago.

@Punkin105 the need for location services to be on is not considered to be a problem requiring a fix. It is simply fitbit complying with new rules introduced by Google with the introduction of Android 6. Unless Google change the rules nothing will change in this respect.
If you have location services on and you are still having syncing issues then that is a different matter and in this case this help file may be of use:
