Hi all,
Does location need to be on as well as bluetooth when syncing on the phone app?
Is there a way to sync without having to turn location on every time?
Or is there something i can turn off so location isnt required?
I have the Charge HR.
Thanks

This is a consequence of Android 6 and is explained by one of the moderators in this thread:

Just had a new update to my Galaxy 6 and now I am getting a message that my location has to be turned on to locate my fitbit. I do not want to leave it on since it drains my battery. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I'm sorry but in everything I have found to read about this sycning probelm...it says there is going to be no fix and also refers to a thread from 2014-2015, For a lot of us this is a new issue , mine only started a few weeks ago.  So why are we being refered to a problem and thread from over a year ago.

@Punkin105 the need for location services to be on is not considered to be a problem requiring a fix. It is simply fitbit complying with new rules introduced by Google with the introduction of Android 6. Unless Google change the rules nothing will change in this respect.

If you have location services on and you are still having syncing issues then that is a different matter and in this case this help file may be of use:
