Syncing issues with non supported phones

Fitbit need to make it much clearer to potential purchasers the limited range of brands/models that their operating system properly supports. I recently purchased a Fitbit Versa at a cost of £200.00. I then had to change my android smart phone as it only worked intermittently with my Fitbit Versa. So I purchased an up to date Nokia (costing £350.00)  operating on Android 8.1.0. I then discovered that the devices would not sync at all, even after having followed the advice of Fitbit support. As a result I am now the owner of a very expensive digital watch.

pp. Having checked Fitbit's list of supported brands and models, I discovered that my wife's iPhone is on the list so she is now the proud owner and user of a fully functional Fitbit Versa, while I am out of pocket to the tune of £550.00. Thanks Fitbit.
