This could be happening because the J7 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I have had no problems with syncing since I got both the phone and the fitbit last April. Three days ago it just stopped syncing. It seems to have resumed, but I don't  know what the problem was that caused it.Any info would be helpful in case it happens again. ThanksSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Hello @Ducky222.

Glad to read that it seems to working for now.

As I indicated, it could be happening because the J7 is not part of the supported devices list and so there might be some optimization issues from time to time that causes these syncing issues. Given that it is not part of the list, we cannot fully guarantee that it will work at all times. M

If it does happen again you can try the steps listed in this help article

This is not an accepted solution because since April 15 when I purchased the Fitbit it worked fine. Suddenly several days ago it would not sync. It has somehow fixed itself. I don't know how. I would like to know what the problem might have been so I can correct it next time it happens.

Hello @Ducky222.

Because the app is not fully optimized to work with that phone, it's not possible to determine what could've happened. It could be that some change in your phone's software caused the syncing to stop. There is also the possibility that there was Bluetooth interference, or perhaps the internet connection wasn't stable enough for it to sync at the time.

The best way to go about it is to follow the steps I liked above in case it does happen again.

Feel free to reach out with any other questions.

Hello @Beenhad.

At this moment we do not have any details on the matter.

Having said that, maybe you could support this suggestion about adding the J7 to the list. You can comment and vote on it to show your support. Be sure to read the FAQ to better understand how that board works.

You were had by Samsung. The J series might seem like an S, but it's very stripped down. They removed the "phone visibility" feature from you Connections tab in Settings, along with changing the bluetooth menu to only be visible when open.

It'll sync for a while when you pair, but you'll drop pair sooner or later, lose features, and corrupt your device as it tries to receive updates while not properly connected to the app.

This is a Samsung issue, and I doubt any device that pairs through an app will work well with it.

On  your list of supported devices, it says "Samsung Galaxy J" and "Samsung Galaxy J3". Is that not saying that the J series is supported, or did you guys invent a Samsung phone that Samsung doesn't know about??

Welcome to the Forums @JVerran86.

Thanks for posting your question on this.

In this case it means that the Galaxy J and the Galaxy J3. There is not other phone on the J series that is supported at this time.

I hope this clarifies the situation. Let me know if there are any other questions on the matter.
