I have a Samsung Gear watch that I am trying to download the fitbit app so I can sync it to my app on my android phone. I can't get it to work. Looking for advice

The app doesn't sync to older telephones, it doesn't download to mine, but it does download to my tablet and my windows 10 PC, which works well for me. 

Have you seen this post, does it apply?

Um, you want to sync it to a watch?  Not sure if that is possible at all.  "Originally released as an Android-based device, Samsung replaced the operating system with Tizen"  it doesn't sound as though it has the right operating system to sync with fitbit.  You could try contacting customer support, but I doubt whether you will be able to download the app to the watch. you will need to download the app to your phone.
