It has been a few weeks since my fitbit has worked properly. Will not sync

I would try restarting your phone and then restarting your fitbit using this procedure:

Give this a few tries as it doesn't always work. You might also try forgetting the fitbit in your phone's bluetooth settings. If it still won't sync after that then there are some more ideas to try in this help file: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866/

 

Note that fitbits only have limited memory to hold data between syncs. They can store 5 - 7 days of detailed data before they start storing the information at a daily summary rather than minute by minute. After about a month of that they start losing data. So, when you get your syncing issues resolved your data may look strange.
