Text Msgs only show Sender's name (RESOLVED)

Fitbit Update: 9/12/19

Hey all!

We're still investigating and working on a fix for this text notification issue on Android. 

In addition to not receiving the correct text notification, we're now aware this is also affecting call notifications. Some of you may only see a previous caller's name and not the person actually calling you at the time you're receiving the notification. 

When we have more information for a fix, we'll announce it here in this thread. Please stay tuned for updates!

Fitbit Update: 7/30/19

Hi everyone.

We're aware of these issues with receiving only the sender's name from your text messages. This appears to have started with the Fitbit for Android app version 3.0. If you're experiencing this yourself with your Fitbit device, please know we're working on a fix. 

While our team investigates this further, we just ask for your patience. Once I have information for a fix, I'll make an announcement here on this thread.

@Sangyz you're lucky latest update worked. I downloaded the fit notifications app so I guess I'll continue to use that.

I went from getting the sender's name to now not getting any notification of a text message. 

I noticed there was an update, but it didn't do a thing.

Mine is still not working, and no update is even available. It's actually gotten worse, it now shows the wrong name for phone calls, like my brother's name will pop up when my husband calls, but not consistently. 

It's been over a month. Fitbit has more than dropped the ball. When the new Samsung smartwatch comes out later this month, I will officially be done with fitbit. The amount of time this issue has dragged on with no explanation, support, or attempts to fix is unreasonable.

YES! I answered my phone yesterday thinking it was my son, because that's what my Charge 2 said, but it was actually a telemarketer. This seems hopeless. It's getting worse and worse.

I had the same problem too with the wrong name showing up when someone calls. It no longer happens for me though and I get the right name.

I gave 3.5 another try. Still not working. And now, in addition to no sender or message for texts, I'm getting the wrong caller ID. It's just getting worse.

This has been going on since early July! Thankfully, 2.95 works. Fitbit, what are you doing? This is ridiculous. We shouldn't have to roll back to previous versions to get the functionality we paid for. And we've had to find it ourselves!

My patience has run out. I'll be buying another product soon and it won't be a Fitbit.

I just started having this today as well. Worked perfect for a long time. A month or two ago I started only receiving sender name. Today it's nothing text message related, but I am getting call notifications still, which is baffling.

Mine finally just started working right now.  App updated and now texts are appearing.  Hopefully this means the phone call issue is fixed too.

Mine is worse also...I was at least getting a notification of someone texting me but now I'm not getting any text notifications, only phone calls which makes no sense. Not sure how it got worse when it's been so long already. There is no way this problem should be getting worse after over a month of problems and so many complaints and issues and Fitbit doesn't seem concerned or to care about our issues and losing customers by the day

I have now lost all message alerts on my Alta.  On top of the wrong caller coming up.

Is there a fix coming for this?

After no fix and actually getting *worse* with the wrong ID for a phone call, I dumped FitBit totally and bought something new.  Very disappointed, but couldn't wait any longer...

I have an Android 9 and am no longer receiving text from messages - just the sender's name - how can I get this corrected?

I give up Fitbit - I have tried everything including trying to contact Fitbit support - now I am no longer getting phone calls or sender's name - looking for a new watch

I stopped getting text and call notifications when I got a new phone and completely forgot about that feature. It would be nice to have them though.
