YOU said an Android phone should work if it is a 7.0. Hm.............. Everything else works but not reviving a text message...... Wish I had known this 1st.... Not liking it.

Thanks for verifying your phone's Android version and for your efforts while troubleshooting this matter. I understand how you're feeling and let me help you out with this. Although the Fitbit app works with Android 7.0, there are other conditions that need to be met to ensure a full performance of the Fitbit app and its features on your phone. That said, please provide me with:
- Your phone's model.
- The model of your Fitbit device.
- The name of the messaging app you're using on your phone.
Also, if you've not done so I'd recommend to try the troubleshooting described in this help article to work on the notifications.
