Totally inaccurate readings

Have been using my new Fitbit for 4 days and am not impressed. Second day awoke to see I had apparently drank 2.5 ltrs during the night. Today I find I have eaten nearly half my calory quota during the night. As I do not sleep walk and can see no evidence of this binging during the night I have to assume this gadget is far from accurate. The step reader seems to be working but I wish I had not bought the Fitbit as it's basically useless so far.

That is strange. The only way I can see that it would log water and food on its own would be if its linked to another app such as MyFitnessPal and the data is syncing across to your fitbit account. Is this possible?

Well I find this gadget lacking in many ways. I am not attached to another app as you suggest. I find the strap very difficult to take off and when trying to reattach to my wrist after charging the silver prong stabbed me in wrist quite badly and I could not use it again.  I have returned it to supplier and obtained a refund. Too much trouble and terrible wristband!
