Tracking steps with MobileTrack?

My fitbit died and I have decided not to replace it. I would like to just use my phone/app to log steps but cannot find the steps counter on my dashboard anymore (not in app or on web).  It shows calories burned but not steps. I have tried to edit the dashboard/app but steps are not an option.   I am using the android app.

Help function suggests selecting app only in the setup a new device area but that is only visible as an option when I am logged out and setting up as a new user profile.  I want to keep my profile the same as I still have the aria scale and track my food in the app.  Is there a way to get steps showing up again in my app?

Thanks!

Hello @Marissa7234 and welcome to the Help forums.  I never had an account without a device, so I set up an account with a different email and no device to see what happens.  My dashboard looks like your description -- it just shows calories and you can't add steps.  The way to be able to count/add steps to your account is to set up a new device where the choice is MobileTrack -- using your phone's motion detector as the step counter.  Here's the tough part.  Very few Android phones support MobileTrack.  You shouldn't need to set up a new user profile, because you have another device (your scale) on your account.  I did the following on my new account.  When you tap on your profile picture, the + Set Up a Device should be blue.  When you tap on that, you will see the list of devices.  If your phone supports MobileTrack, it will say either "Just the app" or "MobileTrack" at the bottom of the page.  You won't need to scroll to see it.  It is an overlay at the bottom of the page.  MobileTrack Help article

If "Just the app""MobileTrack" isn't there, then you are out of luck.

There is a hardware restriction that keeps many Android phones from being able to support MobileTrack.
