Unable to Add 1 Certain Friend

I am having trouble adding a friend of mine. I have added friends before, but I just can't seem to add him. He is not connected to Facebook, so I search with email. I find him, request him, but he never receives the request. I am 100% sure the email address is correct, it is not going to any of his spam folders, and neither one of us has privacy restrictions on our profiles. We have both gone so far as to delete the app and reinstall it. He is able to receive and send requests from others. What gives?

He did when he first got it, and I accepted, but I don't show up in his friends list. He can't request me again, because it says we are already friends. He doesn't receive any of my requests.

I have tried again and again to add one specific friend. She can message me inside the app. But is not listed onfriwnds list. I can't add her to challenges.

Why?!!!!
