Unable to Search for Food (or bar code scan for food)

ANSWERED

I am unable to search or scan food items to log them in my fitbit app. I have already force stopped the app and restarted with no resolve. Foods in my recent and frequent lists appear but I'm unable to search for anything new.

Same issue with UK database.  Have tried logging out/back in to the app, clearing the app cache and reinstalling the app completely.  No joy.

Hi @Joestang406.  Everyone is.  This is affecting both Android and iPhone users.

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.

This is not working for a lot of folks. Could this be marked as unresolved and any sort of timeline of resolution provided?

I am having the same problem. Food database is not populating and when I try to create a custom food does not save the custom food. Can only choose from frequent, recent and custom foods already created.

Why is this flagged as answered as though as the issue has been resolved. All you’ve said is “yeah it’s messed up, maybe unplug it and plug it in again”

Same here. Food search not working since yesterday. Did all your steps and still didn’t fix it on iPhone 12. Looks like you have a server side issue Fitbit you need to address. All these people can’t be having the same problem at the same time because of them. Must be Fitbit servers.

There is an extremely unfortunate number of us experiencing this same issue. Fitbit needs to sort their servers.

Tried all that again this afternoon (UK). Still no food list.

It's bad enough having to force stop on a regular basis to get it to synch, but at least everything worked afterwards.

Getting extremely fed up with all the Fitbit problems since the Google takeover. Looking to change my watch and go elsewhere if they don't stop messing with what was a great product.

These steps did not resolve the issue for me.

I'm having the exact same problem, but I also noticed that it coincided with the purchase of my Fitbit Charge 6 and an "upgrade" to Fitbit Premium (yesterday, 11/6/25), so I thought the two were related. From the other postings, it sounds like there's a broader problem.

Still not working(can't search for "new" food, can log food from frequent and custom lists already in the app ). This has been going on since yesterday. a friend of mine with iOs also having same issue .

I just want it fixed. I pay for Fitbit Premium and I expect all the services. Let's go ladies and gentlemen. We rely on this tracking ability.

Same here. When will this get fixed!

Experiencing the same. Tried all the steps, still not working. Only frequently used, recent showing up.

Still having the same issue here. It has been happening since yesterday. I was trying to add my food and it wouldn't find it. Today the search function is not even working. I am not able to do any search or add any new foods. The app says the food database is N/A. I sure wish someone would figure it out and fix it.

Yeah having the same issue here on Android. Have they given any official response to the issue yet?
