I bought my fitbit Charge 5 in May. Now, in June, it will not sync with the Fitbit app. I was advised to delete the Fitbit app and reload it. However, when I did that the app that loaded was an outdated app. I was advised to contact the Google Play Store, which I have not yet done. When I got this fitbit in May I was able to load the correct app immediately. The transition was easy. My fitbit is not very useful without the app. Has anyone else had this problem?

1) What version Android phone?
2) "I was advised" - by whom? by Fitbit support or by some rando on these boards?
3) When you reloaded it, I assume it was from Google Play Store, right? What app version did you get, and what version did you have before?

Motorola One 5g UW Ace
I replace the phone and the fitbit at about the same time, but don't remember which was first. The version of the app that I am finding in the Google Play store now is 4.2, if I'm reading it correctly. I do not remember what I had before. The app I'm getting is the only one in the Play Store.

Also, "I was advised" by the fitbit tech support.
I have been trying to update the Google Fit Bit app by following instructions in Google Play Store update apps. I am not finding the menu buttons they tell me to go to, so I am stuck.

That phone is Android 11. That is fine; just making sure because doesn't work with some older Android versions.
I expect what you see on the Google Play Store is the current one, either 3.59.1 or 3.60. I've never seen them go back to older versions. I expect what you are seeing is right under the Fitbit logo, it says 4.2 * which is the user rating 4.2 out of 5 stars.
If you really want to check, in the play store after looking it up, tap the fitbit logo, then What's New, then scroll down to bottom and see Version.
Which brings us back to your current situation. Do you have a Fitbit app loaded on your phone? If so, does it have your Fitbit device listed?
