I've tried over 10 times to install new "firmware" restarted phone, uninstalled and reinstalled Fitbit etc. etc. Came here to find what the problem is but from other topics, I dont think I'll bother. Seems to have caused a ton of grief for other users!!

Hello @Just_Bethy welcome to the Community Forums! It's a pleasure to help you with your concern, sorry for the delay in responding your post.
First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting this situation prior to posting. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which Android device you're currently using? Also, which Fitbit device? If you haven't already done so, please check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for a better understanding of this procedure and to verify that all the settings are correctly configured to install the firmware update on your Fitbit device.
After verifying the above, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
Please keep me posted, I'll be around.

I have a Charge 3 and I'm having the same issues. I have it paired with a iPhone 7 plus. Last night I tried again and with the unit charging and at 82%, I received a message that told my to plug it in and charge it. Doh. That is what I was doing. Anyway, this was not my first attempt. I will try one more time and give up. My Fitbit is working well and, I too, have concerns with the firmware update. The last update caused issues where I lost a week of activities and did not notice an improvements. Come to think of it, maybe I won't update it but the indicator showing I have an update is driving me crazy.
