Unable to manually log missing sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My fitbit missed my sleep completely for Oct 15, but when I manually log it and press Save, it doesn't appear anywhere. The app still says "No data" for that day, even after syncing (not that it should make any difference).

Hello @SussaB

Thank you for describing your issue and sharing your screenshots. In order to help figure out what's going on, please give us some additional information.

Which Fitbit device do you have?

Are you having issues with heart rate tracking? Do you see a green light on the back of your Fitbit? The green light is the heart rate sensor and is needed for sleep data tracking.

Hi RiekoC,

I have the Inspire 2 (can't use the new bulky ones), heart rate tracking is fine. Sleep is automatically logged just fine. My only problem is I'm unable to manually log this one single instance of sleep that the tracker missed completely.

Hello @SussaB

Thank you for the additional info.

One thing to try is clearing the storage for the Fitbit app on your phone. Sometimes that will clear a "stuck" app. You likely will have to re-log into the app.

Ok, I have no idea how to do that. I hate mobile phones and only use it to check my fitbit (since it became impossible to use the app on my computer). I looked at the menu that opened when I pressed Fitbit in the App-section under Settings, but nothing hinted at a possibility to "clear the storage". The phone is an Android, if that makes any difference.

As I said, everything else works fine, there is only this one day when it completely ignored my sleep and now doesn't register a manual log. But neither does it stop me from giving it the data - it just doesn't appear as a registration for that day when I press Save.

I'm finding the same SussaB. Clearing storage as suggested by RiekoC does not "unstick" the app. The save function no longer works for sleep after updating the latest version of the app, either when you log a new activity or when you edit a logged activity. You can enter or change the start and end times. But when you click save the sleep event is not registered by the app.

DarWun, luckily, I've been able to edit existing registrations.

I wear the Fitbit around my ankle when awake to avoid "steps" that are just hand-waving. This leads to the Fitbit believing I'm asleep when I'm working. I've actually registered my best "deep sleep" sessions while sitting at my computer... So I have to correct  the time I get up almost every day.
