Unable to read/reply to text notifications on Versa

My wife has a Versa and it is not fully compatible with her LG G8 thinq phone.  She cannot read/reply to text messages. 

#1, Is there a fix for this?

#2, Is the Versa 2 fully compatible with the G8 thinq?

It still doesn't work.  Can't read a text on the fitbit. Here is what we did:

1. Factory reset the fitbit

2. Uninstalled fitbit app from LG G8

3. Reinstalled fitbit app on phone.

4. Restarted phone

5. Setup new fitbit in app

6. Did sync between phone and fitbit

7. Enabled text notifications on fitbit

8. Sent text from another phone

9. She gets a notification on the fitbit that I received a text.

10. When she acknowledges the notification on the fitbit, there are 4 options:  Mark as read, Reply, Open (with a phone icon), and Clear.

If she chooses Open, it opens the text on the phone...NOT on the fitbit!

What am I missing?  Why won't it open the text on the fitbit?

@HChevy, thanks for the information provided as well for detailing the steps that you've tried on your own. You did a good job with them and let me help you with your inquiries. First of all let me clarify that the "Open" option was designed to open the notification on your phone and not on the watch, which means that this function is working as intended on your watch.

Now about being unable to reply back to text notifications, may I know what happens when tapping on that option? Is your reply appearing in the messaging app? As you noticed, the Fitbit app hasn't been optimized to work on your LG G8 ThinQ phone and that might be the reason why the quick replies aren't working correctly. Our team keeps working hard to add more devices to our compatible devices list and while we cannot guarantee a full performance, please go to the notifications settings and check that the app you are using for your notifications have this feature on. THis did not answer his question. He wants to be able to read his text messages on his fitbit not the phone. When you hit open the message does not open on fitbit, it open in the cell phone message. How do you get it to open in fitbit? I also have a LG G8 thin q

Thanks for joining this thread and let me help you with your inquiry about the notifications. As mentioned above, the "Open" option that you see on your Fitbit device is to open that notification on the phone and not on the Fitbit device.

Currently when receiving a notification on a Fitbit device, you'll be able to see a preview of the message and you can tap on the notification to see the full message. However, if it's too long you'll need to read the complete message on your phone. I'm sorry for this inconvenience and please know that our team will continue working to improve our devices and their features based on the feedback shared in the forums.

When I do just slightly tap it it just opens in my phone. I dont have any sort of preview of my message on my fitbit. I am told my phone isnt compatible with the versa 2 so therefore I am unable to read messages on my fitbit only my phone. I have talked with technicians for fitbit and done all the trouble shooting and steps but it still never worked. I ended up returning the fitbit and keeping my old charge 2. Messages dont work on that device either but oh well. Hopefully soon the LG g8 thin q will be compatible so more people can enjoy the fitbits.

I  just bought myself another versa 2 noting that it is now compatible with my phone, but i am not even able to see a review of a message. i just recieve a notification of a message, when will the fitbit be able t do text messages without paying an arm and a leg
