Unable to setup Charge 2 with Samsung Galaxy A8

  • Hi there,

i have a charge two that worked completely fine until August 23rd when I set up a webcam to watch my cats (set up through wifi - not connected to blue tooth) and ever since then my Fitbit has been stuck on that day and will not sync at all. My Bluetooth says it can’t pair with it and it keeps saying device can not be found. It says the same on the Fitbit app(device cannot be found). I have a samsung A8 phone. I have tried all the trouble shooting steps that the website suggests :

1) restarted the fitbit at least a dozen times

2) deleted and re downloaded the app

3) turned my phone on and off

4) forced stopped the app

5) tried making a new device

6) logged in and out of the app

7) used a different wifi to see if it would sync

😎 turned the blue tooth on and off(says device cannot be paired)

i dont have a desktop to try and sync it there - i only have my phone

can anyone’s give me any advice on what what I can do to get it to sync again?? I really don’t know why it won’t sync.

thanks

Hello @sarab101, welcome to the Community Forums!

First, I'd like to appreciate your effort and patience troubleshooting your device prior to posting, thanks for the details that were shared too. Let me share with you that the Samsung Galaxy A8 is not currently listed as a compatible device with our products and services, therefore, you may experience certain connection difficulties with it. I'm aware that some users are able to use non-compatible devices with our Fitbit products, however, we cannot ensure a proper function of all its features due to this compatibility concern, Android, Fitbit app and device updates.

Even though your mobile device is not compatible, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device. Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.
