Updating Food database

Is it possible to update the food database from the app?

I scan barcodes and it says it can't find an item and I can add it by taking photos.  But how can I take photos the only thing that works is the ability to scan another Barcode.

Hello @SunsetRunner let give you a warm welcome to our Community. Note the barcode scan is not available at the moment for other countries and at the time is only available if you are using the US food data base. When you change to this food data base the option to take picture in order to update the barcode scanner will be available.

In this way you will be supporting this idea and maybe in a near future this will be implemented. Our product team looks forward to reading and incorporating your suggestions into future versions of Fitbit trackers and apps.

Hello

I am new to the Fitbit world and desperately trying to add all my foods in but am having trouble also.

I am having this exact same issue, I then take a photo of the food I'm wanting to add and nothing happens???

What do I do from here???

Hello @Brittski01, its nice to have you here in the Fitbit Community. When you scanned a barcode and its not found, most of the times is due to the food is not listed or the food data base is different from the US Food data base.

The option to submit suggested food through the barcode scanner is only available for the US food data base. If this is something in which you're interested, please take a look at the Feature suggestion mentioned before to contribute with your vote and comments.

As a workaround you can create you own custom food. Go to your mobile app > Select the Food tile > Change the tab to Custom > and tap on the option "+ Add Custom Food" > Enter the food details and save.
