Upgrade now my Fitbit won't sync?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently did an upgrade on my Samsung 5S phone and since my fitbit will not sync with the phone.  I have tried pretty much any and all trouble shooting suggestions online (restart bluetooth, restart phone, uninstal app, etc) and nothing seems to fix the problem.  Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?

I've had the same problem since I upgraded my phone from an S4 to an S7. I have to manually sync my fitbit each time using device location. My phone's bluetooth doesn't even recognize my Fitbit.

@Jean9H, do you have Location Services enabled on your new phone?

I've sent an email mail to Fitbit. They are trying to figure out the
problem. I'll let you know if anything comes of it.

This is the most recent e-mail I received from Fitbit. I hope they can fix
this issue!
"We have carefully reviewed our system regarding the requirement for the
Fitbit trackers and Bluetooth sync with Android mobile. As a result, we
have confirmed that due to Google permissions requirements for Bluetooth
syncing, Android devices running on operating system 6.0 and higher, must
have location services turned on to sync your tracker. With this version,
the permissions for Bluetooth syncing has change requiring the use of
location services. For more information, you can click here
.
Additionally you must also allow the Fitbit app to access your location"

Bummer I tried that and it still doesn't sync.

Had anyone tried syncing over data instead of WiFi? That's what I did when I upgraded last year. I also had to set up my Flex as a new device. Once I did both of those, I didn't have that issue anymore.

I just spent about 2 hours waiting and then talking to a support person online and they are sending me a new fitbit stating that the bluetooth in my current fitbit must be faulty and that I qualified for a replacement device.  I appreciate that but I really hope that is the problem because I had no issues prior.

I also just tried syncing on data instead of wireless and it still did not connect.
