Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. My Versa2 is not converting steps to miles correctly. it says 10,000 steps = 1.7 miles. I know it is close to 5. In any case it isn't 1.7. this is very annoying. does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your help.
BJ

It could be your stride length is set too short. That is used to convert steps to distance (except when using GPS).

The thing is I am not having an issue with steps. I would have to have changes and shackles on my ankles to walk that few steps. it would have to be way way off. I will check though. thanks

You missed my point. Given you walked 10,000 steps. Fitbit multiplies each step times your stride length to get distance. I am not saying you walked fewer steps, but a too short stride length would convert those steps to a shorter mileage distance.

my stride is 12 inches and it still has caused my miles to 10,000 plus to be 1. 3/4 miles for steps any other thought....I have a Charger 3

I am having the same issue with my Charger 3.
The call in support and chat support knows nothing...so disappointing about to give up on Fitbit and try another product completely.

That just means your stride is set way too small. If you figure 10,000 steps times 12 inches per stride, that gives you 10,000 feet, a bit under 2 miles. If you just set your stride longer, it will translate to more miles.
12 inch step is obviously too small; that would be just putting your heel right next to your toe each step.

I have no idea what you changed to what, or what the 27 is.
