I have the versa 2, i have had it for a long time. I have never been able to get my text messages or phone calls to show up on my watch never had this issue before

May be check your watch is syncing properly and also the notifications are set up properly.

 

In the phone Fitbit App

Click on profile photo [top left]

Device photo [middle left]

Notifications

And verify the top 4 items are correctly defined.

Also

App notifications

and select any apps you want to hear from.
