When we go to the fitbit app we click on 'set up a device' and then we click on 'versa 3'. Instead of getting the information page, it goes back to 'set up a device' and then we click on 'versa 3, and so on forever.
We have tried calling fitbit and they promised to get someone to call us back. It never happened.
We tried reinstalling the app and same problem.
BUT the versa 3 will work on a Huawei P30 lite. There is nothing on the website to say it doesn't work on P40 lite (it says reduced functionality for P20 lite). So we feel a little cheated by this.
Anybody with same problem? Anybody managed to solve it?

@SpikeW I am moving your post to the Android forum. Your issue looks more like a Huawei/Android issue than a Versa 3 device issue. I think you will get more help in the Android forum.
I am not an Android or Huawei user. Are you in the US? I know that there are ongoing issues between Google and Huawei in the US. If you are in the US, this article might help.

Welcome to the Community, @SpikeW. Thanks for the input, @LZeeW.
@SpikeW I've seen that you contacted our Support team already and your case was escalated to a higher level of support. The problem that you describe when you try to setup your watch will happen when the Fitbit app is not updated. Since your P40 Lite doesn't have the Play Store option, where did you download the Fitbit app from? In the meantime, you can try the advice from this post .
Catch you later.

Thanks for the reply. I am based in the UK.
The fitbit app was downloaded from the Amazon playstore.
To ask a simple question: is the fitbit supported on P40 lite or not?

Hi, @SpikeW.
Thanks for the update. As long as your phone meets the minimum requirements, you can use it with your Fitbit device. Since your phone doesn't have Play Store, and the Fitbit app is not available on the AppGallery, the app version that you downloaded from Amazon playstore could be outdated.
Regarding your inquiry about your phone's compatibility with Fitbit, this is something that is being investigated by our team. I reached them to see if there's any update and they'll contact you by email as soon as possible so keep an eye on your inbox.
See you around.

So the Aurora store seemed to have a version that worked well and it has now recognised it. Phew

@SpikeW Congratulations for finding a way around the Huawei - Google trade issues.
@BraulioFitbit The compatible device page really needs an update to help Huawei users.

@SpikeW I'm glad to know that you could setup your Versa 3. I suggest you visit our Feature Suggestions board and post if you'd like to suggest the availability of the Fitbit app for the Huawei AppGallery. If a similar suggestion has already been made by another member of the community, you can vote for it and add your comments. Our product development teams regularly consult this section as Fitbit takes your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.
@LZeeW Your feedback is appreciated, Fitbit is always working to improve its products and services provided. Hopefully our team can consider to add the Fitbit app on the Huawei AppGallery.
Have a nice day!
