Versa 4 notifications stopped after app update

Hi everyone,

First-time poster here, and I'm hoping someone might have some advice because I'm completely stuck.

I've been using my Versa 4 with my Samsung S23 for about six months, and it's been flawless. But for the last couple of days, I've stopped receiving any notifications at all—no calls, no texts, no calendar alerts. The watch syncs steps and heart rate just fine, but notifications are dead.

I've already tried all the usual fixes I could find on the forum:

  • Restarted both the phone and the Versa 4 multiple times.
  • Turned Bluetooth off and on again.
  • Forced a sync from the Fitbit app.
  • Checked all the notification permissions for the Fitbit app in Android settings (they are all enabled).
  • Made sure Do Not Disturb mode is off.

The only thing that has changed on my phone is that my son updated one of his games. While trying to figure this out, I went into my phone's battery usage settings to see if any app was acting strangely. I noticed that the problems started right after his game, was updated. In the app's info, I can see the exact version is 1.21.110.22.

Is it even possible for a game app to interfere with the Fitbit app's background services like this? It seems strange, but the timing is just too perfect. I'm trying to avoid doing a full factory reset on my watch if I can help it.

Has anyone ever run into an issue where a specific third-party app update caused their Fitbit notifications to stop working? Any advice on what I could check next would be a massive help.

Thanks so much in advance!
