Versa is not recognising my exercise

Hi is anyone else experiencing my issue. I have a fitbit versa. Over the last week the fitbit and my app is not detecting that i am doing any form of exercise ie. Walk, riding a bike, eliptical. I have tried resetting the phone and resetting the fitbit. I have also been in touch with fitbit who told me to play about with the settings but still the fitbit and app is not syncing my activity but is showing how long i have been active for in active minutes. I got a brand new fitbit versa replacement today and still have the same issue. The auto recognition setting is on. My app version is version 3.0 so is it possible it could be because fitbit are rolling out the new software? I'm at the end of my tether.
