Versa killing phone battery

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got the Versa 3 days ago and ever since my battery on my phone is depleting rapidly. I turned off blue tooth as well as all day sync. Even put apps to sleep. Is there a way this can be fixed. I lost 20 percent of battery within 30 minutes

Hi @Lilkim77, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community! I saw your Versa watch is killing the battery of your phone, despite you have turned Off the bluetooth and All-day Sync.

Certainly this is a normal behavior if your tracker is working with your phone constantly, like using Connected GPS . Otherwise the Versa is independent and has no communication with your phone if your bluetooth is not connected.

In this case I would recommend to reset your phone. However do this suggestion in the following order:  Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app (This may vary depending of the Android device and the OS version). Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.

These other tow options can drain your battery, that it would be worth to review:

  •  If Always Connected is On, try to turn it Off. This options improves your Bluetooth connection but also drains your Fitbit device's battery more quickly along with your phone. Turn it off and on as you prefer.
  • Make sure the Fitbit app is allowed to run in the background on your phone. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app sending a notification to my Android phone?

Keep me posted how it goes. Catch you later!

I am having the same issue. Will try this and see if it works.

I did as prescribed and performance did improve slightly. I was still getting alerts that the app was using my battery. What I did to keep that from happening is click on my Versa, then turn off All day synch, always connected and the keep alive widget. That solved the issue completely. I did lose some functionality so if I am going to exercise or track a route I will need to turn them on. Beats having to charge the phone 2 to 3 times per day. Fitbit should look at taming the battery drain with this app. My wife has the ios version and has no problems with Battery drain.

Do you still receive notifications after turning off these 3 things?
