Version 3.0 of the software is the problem.  Going back to version 2.95 should resolve the issue.  However it is a little technical to do so.

Hi.

Okay....on your phone - go to Google Play and turn off automatic updates for apps.

Uninstall the current fitbit app.

On the phone, open a web browser and search for A....P......K.....mirror (remove the dots)

Download and install. Your phone is going to complain about installing from an unknown source. Give the install permissions.

Open the app. Search for Fitbit. Look for Fitbit 2.95 released on June 17th. Download it.

You need a file explorer for files on your phone. Might have to download one.

Browse to your internal storage. Go to your downloads folder on the phone.

Install the fit bit app. The file will start with the name: com.fitbit.FitbitMobile_2.95

Confiure for your texting app. Reboot the fitbit. Reboot your phone.

Try the text messages. Let me know if you have questions.

It sounds worse than it is.  Hardest part is installing the a....p...k software.  If you get stuck, reach out.  You can do this Smiley Happy

I will. Thank you. Why would Fitbit fix this issue?

As far as I can tell, they don't believe it is an issue.  The FitBit staff on here only seems capable of blaming the device (fitbit) or your phone.  They don't realize their software has problems too.
