Versa watch steps out of sync with app

The app is adding steps to my count, sometimes by as much as 200 steps. When I keep trying to sync eventually it’s the watch that updates to match the incorrect step count from the app. I’ve had to start writing down the counts so I can manually figure out what my REAL total is. 

My watch is set up to be the sole source for steps and my phone doesn’t track them. 

The discrepancy is not always the same so I can’t even just subtract the same number. I was starting to use the AI coach during the day and so was syncing more. I guess the solution is just to stop using the app
