Versa won't control phone's audio

When I try to control my phone's audio, specifically spotify, from my watch it registers as disconnect.  I know that this is false because my watch still receives messages.  I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting as well as restarting.  None of it worked.  I appreciate any advice!

Hello @RotundRapier.

Thanks for reaching back with those details.

It is possible that it could be happening because the Note 8 is not part of the supported devices list

However, it could also be related to the Bluetooth Classic, as it is needed to control the audio. Let's try turning on Bluetooth Classic on your Versa. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Fitbit device.
  2. Then go to the pair settings  Bluetooth > Pair.
  3. On your phone, navigate to the Bluetooth settings where paired devices are listed. Your phone will scan for available devices.
  4. When you see Classic next to your Fitbit device, tap it.

That should do the trick.

Look forward to your reply.

Welcome to the Forums @RotundRapier.

Thanks for bringing this up and trying those steps before posting. I will be moving this thread to the Versa board as I think it is better suited for it.

I'd also like to ask some questions to better understand the situation:

  • What phone are you using?
  • Did you setup any other Bluetooth devices with your phone?
  • Has this always been like this or did it only start recently? If the latter, when did it start?

Look forward to your reply.

To answer your questions in order: I have a note 8, no, it has been
happening on and off, but the day before I posted it became a constant
issue.

Something else is that for a while I had 2 versas in my bluetooth library.
I had a classic and a regular. The classic has disappeared. I don't know
if that is relevant, but there it is.
