Versa2 Android notifications stopped, Notification setting option gone from latest Fitbit app

My Versa2 is no longer receiving notifications from my Android phone. Tried restarting phone and watch and app, unpairing and repairing, checking app permissions, etc. No luck. 

Have found that the latest Android app version (4.34.1) no longer has the option for setting Notification preferences. It used to under the General settings area where you find Wrist Placement, etc. My husband still has that option because he did not update the app. I cannot find the Notification setting anywhere else on this app version. I have no way to check the settings, send a text call, etc

I tried to include screenshots of the old version with the Notification setting line and the latest version without it but they were flagged.

Please see this thread from the Charge 6 forum where the Moderator provided the steps to try to get the Notification setting back on the app (<-- click link).
