Wallet app pin does not work anymore (and more issues)

I got a Versa a week or two ago, set up the wallet via the tile in the Versa panel of the Mobile App (Android). That worked fine, I choose a pin code and that pin is also on the Versa. I haven't use fitbit pay yet. Now I was reading that the Versa should show an image of a payment card when you press the left button to initiate a NFC payment (or does that ONLY happen when you make an actual payment, and otherwise not?). I never get this image. So I concluded that something seems not entirely right...

Then I wanted to go back to the Wallet tile on the Versa Android App screen, and it asks me for my PIN but when I enter it, it does not accept it and asks me to re-enter it. So now I cannot back into my 'Wallet', I cannot find a way of disabling it either. The PIN on my Versa is still the same and works. I am synced and connected. I don't mind to start from scratch as I need to figure out why I don't get the payment-card image anyway. It was fast to set up the card.

How do I resolve this issue??? (before resetting/deleting/reinstalling/etc). And indeed generally: if you forgot your PIN, where can you disable it? (in the app or elsewhere).

I found the 'deactivate fitbit pay' on the fitbit.com personal info page. Then I also had to log out of the App (on Android) and log in again, and suddenly the wallet tile was starting up from scratch. This time more happened than the first time as it asked to verify my creditcard. This didn't happen the first time around. But I managed to verify that one too, magically. And yes, NOW pressing the left button brings up an image of a payment card and says 'ready to pay' or something like that. Cool.

BUT - again clicking on the wallet tile in the Android app again asks to enter the PIN, and refuses it: it pops back and says 'try again'. That is, I cannot get into the Wallet tile. This is bizarre.

In my first message I asked how to reset the PIN (on the watch). I assume it simply means a factory reset. Ok, got that - don't need it.
