Wallet option not working when trying to add a card

When I try to add a card to the wallet, touching the wallet icon, the screen goes black and returns to the previous screen, as you see in the gif image. How can I solve this and add a card to my Fitbit Charge 6? I have cards added to the wallet of my Android cellphone.

Hi  @jodomofo, welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with the issue you are experiencing with your Fitbit app. Thank you for the gif. It's very illustrative to understand what is happening.

Related issues to the Fitbit app like the one you describe are usually resolve by uninstalling/reinstalling the app. some cases just need to update the app. For more information about how to update the app, refer to our help article How do I use the Fitbit app? below the section "How do I update the Fitbit app?"

Also, i see that your have an Android device. You can optimize the performace of the Fitbit app on your device by reading our help article How do I use the Fitbit app on my Android phone?

Fitbit app shows Google Wallet.  However, when chosen it opens and immediately closes.  Can't make any changes.  After initial move from Fitbit wallet, it functioned without issue.  However, it no longer works.

Already reinstalled Fitbit app, and did a factory reset of my Fitbit device.  Still not functioning.

How do I fix this issue?

(P.S.  I kept finding community posts about this being a known issue and a solution was forthcoming.  These posts date back three years--so have you fixed this issue or not??)

I have been trying to set up my Google wallet on my charge 6.

However, when I enter the Fitbit app and open the Google wallet tile - it does not open. Brings me back to the tiles page. Other tiles are working.

I have tried reinstalling the app with no change.

What is the solution to try to get the Google wallet tile to open.

I have the same issue. Also have an Android. Tried reinstalling the app, did not work.

I changed my phone yesterday to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and now the Google Wallet tile under my Sense 2 in the app wont load. It looks like it's about to slide in from the right-hand side and then it stops.

This was working correctly on my previous phone (S21 Ultra). I have tried unpairing the app and re-adding it but the result is the same.

Feels like an app issue for me.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Just to add - I have also tried reinstalling the app as suggested above but this has made no difference. I'm experiencing the same behaviour as the OP.

I'm also reluctant to factory reset the Sense 2 as I don't want to lose the payment cards I already have set up.

As I still have access to my old phone, I've used this to add the new payment card I was trying to add. This was successful so I reckon there's maybe an issue with newer versions of Android.

App version on both phones: 4.35 (110198507)

Android version on S21 (working): 14

Android version on S25 (not working): 15

I have the same issue.  S21 with version 14, charge 6 version 4.35, brand new. Wallet app will not open, worked on my charge 5. I have talked to fitbit but no solution.  Has anyone found a solution?

Thanks for your reply, @DavidFitbit. I did all you recommended, but the issue continues. I have the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and making a factory reset on the Fitbit Charge 6. I paired the Fitbit Charge 6 with my wife's phone (Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra). I created another Fitbit account with a different Google account. Nothing appears to solve the problem. Please help because the main reason for me to get Fitbit Charge 6, is to use Google Wallet with it.

UPDATE. @DavidFitbit.

As mentioned, I have the Xiaomi 14 Ultra with HyperOs Android 14. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and making a factory reset on the Fitbit Charge with no positive result. I paired the Fitbit Charge 6 with my wife's phone (Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Android 14) with no positive result. However, as @KevCoady suggested, I used an old Huawei Mate 20 Pro with EMUI Android 12 and it worked! I unlinked the device from Xiaomi with Android 14  and then paired it with the Huawei Android 12. In Android 12 the Wallet works! I added the cards to the Fitbit and then unpaired from Huawei. Finally, I paired again with Xiaomi.

I suggest that you verify because something happened with the last versions of Android. Hope you find the bugs and inform us to correct the problem.

Hi
A long story so you don't think I was born yesterday:)

My Fitbit Sense 2 got bad last week with battery drains, it was acting strange. So I followed all help I could get from this forum, but the it did not start anymore. I went for a warranty replacement and I got one. They exchange my Fitbit Sense for a new one directly. Thanks!

I removed the old Sense 2 from my Fitbit app then added the new one. The app updated my new Sense2 to 60.20001.210.26. Then I tried to open the Google Wallet in Fitbit app, it closed down after 1 second.

Solutions tested:
* Reinstall Google Wallet and Fitbit app,  Google Wallet started outside Fitbit app. Because I reinstalled the apps, I had to add the credit cards again = Google Wallet does not start from Fitbit app or Fitbit Sense
* Factory reset the Fitbit Sense 2 = after the setup once again, Google Wallet did not start from Fitbit app or Fitbit Sense
* Check: Fitbit Sense 2, Galaxy S24, Fitbit app and the Google Wallet app had the latest firmware or software.
* Check: Rules for Fitbit app and the Google Wallet, I allowed anything and everything!
* Cleared the cache.
I tested to add my new Fitbit Sense 2 to my wife Galaxy s22 in the Fitbit app. There the Google Wallet did not crash. Strange but this means the problem is with my Galaxy 24, I think.

Any suggestions?

I found another curious problem. The ECG option is only available in the Huawei Android 12 cellphone.. When I switch to Xiaomi or Samsung with Android 14, the option is missing, using the same account in the same place with the same settings.

I definitely think is a bug related to Android version.

Please Help.

One thing im curious about, is how long this issue has been happening. Ive owned my charge 6 for a couple months now and never bothered or cared to try out this feature. But recently I decided to experiment and came across this bug. But I havent seen the bug described until this post which is basically new.

I got it to work today.  My old charge 5 was still listed in my Bluetooth connection.  It was just a picture of a watch with a number beside it.  As soon as I deleted lt the wallet tile opened and I added a card.  Hope this helps someone else.

I've just tried to access the Google Watch tile again on my S25 and it's working now. Software version is the same as before. I can't figure out what else has changed.

Has it also started working for anyone else?
