I updated to the newest Fitbit app release from Sept. 26, and my watch and app are STILL not matching up on steps, calories, etc. This is beyond frustrating. Does anyone know if the latest release was intended to resolve this issue or what "bug fixes" it was addressing instead? It's been at least 3 weeks now where the data doesn't match up, and I'm about ready to ditch Pixel phone and watch altogether and shift over to Apple.
Anyone know where to get actual status updates from Google on this? Seems like they keep telling everyone they're aware of the issue, but how has it still not be resolved after several weeks???

@lincbeck, more details would help. What watch and phone are you using?
Everything was working fine for me with the Android app on my Pixel 6 phone while using my Sense 2 watch. After replacing the 25-month-old watch with a Google Pixel Watch 3, I have had mismatches between the new watch and the Android app. Today neither device is recording calorie burn. Both places only show baseline.
The watch was released Sept. 10. My guess is that they are still working out the kinks that normally occur during the first few months after release.
I hope this helps and have a Terrific day!

Pixel 2 watch and Pixel 6a phone, but that is irrelevant. I've seen the same complaints on the boards for a variety of devices/phones, and it's been reported by others that support has acknowledged this is a known issue that they're "working on". But it's been weeks and still no fix, not even after the update yesterday.

So frustrating. It's been a long while since I've looked at going back to iOS, but the time it's taken to address all the ongoing issues with fitbit/pixel watches/third party apps (i.e. Peloton integration with fitbit) is really making me want to 😞

Just now, I apparently levitated out to the garage to start a load of laundry and then back to my desk. I have the first Pixel watch and a Pixel 6 phone. Watch, phone, and Fitbit app are all fully updated. Steps don't register if I've been still for a while, like after sleeping or working at my desk for some time. It's highly annoying. I try to stomp around like an elephant to wake the dang thing up. Luckily we don't have downstairs neighbors.

Hello @JenMah
I have the same issue that pops up after not moving around for awhile. What works for me is to restart the watch. Usually, I only have to do that once a day.
The other thing that I've noticed is that there can be a lag between my walking and the watch updating to show my steps. I've seen where all of a sudden, the step count on my watch will jump 20-30 steps.
But do try restarting your watch when your step count gets "frozen". It's a lot easier on the arm, speaking from experience.
