Weather app not loading weather and cities information

I have an issue where the Fitbit weather app is not able to fetch weather data for current location nor is it possible to add any cities in the app settings. When trying to add a city you only get to watch the spinner indefinitely and nothing ever loads. Used to work fine until a few weeks ago when it just stopped updating.

Everything is up to date and devices have been restarted. Also the GPS access for the Fitbit app is 'Always allowed' as well as all permissions are enabled for the Weather app. 

I know of a few other people in different geographical locations who have the same issue on different platforms. Make some noise if you have it too 🙂

To better assist you and so we can move forward with this weather app concern, can you please let me know which Fitbit device are you using? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? Do you experience this situation with a compatible mobile device too since your OnePlus 7 Pro is not listed on our compatibility list?

I ended up doing a factory reset on the watch while trying to fix a non
responsive touchscreen. The screen issue remains but after the factory
reset the weather has started working normally. As I mentioned before I've
seen the same issue with user on both newer iPhones and Androids alike.

So I guess a factory reset is the magic (though a bit heavy handed) fix.
