What does the icon a circle with a white cross mean?

I have a brand new charge 4 and can not get it to pair with android, windows or apple. I get as far as getting a pin number then it shows the circle with a x. It then goes back to the fitbit logo and set up. Windows seems to think its paired but the FitBit itself is not registering at all.

The circle with the X in it means it did not successfully set up, and you have to try again.

I have 6 times using various devices. I get the code put that  in and get the x ... It's getting frustrating that something so new doesn't work. 

Its updated on the app, it is fully charged.. Now what ?? 🙄 I keep reading on here how many issues people are having with it. It's not looking good for this Charge 4.

In the app I get DEVICE LOCK - PENDING .

When I click on that I get the message There was a problem communicating with your tracker. Make sure Bluetooth is on.

I've checked and tippled checked. It's on 🤔

Hi, @aadvark - have you tried logging out if the app and restarting the phone and watch? Press and hold the button for 10 seconds till you feel the vibrate and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

I did all of those things multiple times. And after quite a few hours just when I was about to completely despair or throw it in the bin somehow it worked. Thanks very much for your input. Kind regards
