Welcome to the Forums @Celticecho

As you mentioned, this is happening because the Moto G6 Plus is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Having said all of that, at the moment we do not have any updates of when we can expect the phone to be added to the list. Maybe you could vote or comment on this suggestion about the G6 Plus to show your support. Be sure to also read the FAQ to better understand how that board works.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Is anyone using the Moto G6 with Fitbit?  I am currently using an unsupported device and it works with occasional problems. I ask because I have found a good deal on the Moto G6 but don’t want to give up my Fitbit Versa.

Hello @Happygrrl.

Unfortunately I do not have a G6 so that I could share my experience.I'm sure that someone will share their experience on the matter.

I would also recommend creating a thread in one of our Discussion boards asking about this or doing a quick Google search in case something shows up.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have.

I just received a Charge 3 as a gift and have a Moto G6 .... it works OK -- not great!  I have problems with the fitbit showing incoming calls (I've missed numerous calls because my Charge 3 won't alert me). I had a Charge 2 that worked perfectly with my Moto G6 -- but for some reason the Charge 3 seems like it is a step backwards 😞

I just recently got a Fitbit Alta HR and have been able to sync it to my Motorola G6, however I cannot get text or calls to alert on the band.

Hello @jaymeegrlz.

Congratulations on your new Alta HR!

In regards to the notifications, did you try the steps I shared above? They should be helpful in getting the notifications through to your phone.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

So ithink by now they should be able to have the Moto G6 added. This is crazy that Fitbit cares less about it customers. You don't have larger bands for people to buy who have larger wrists. You don't support devices that are a year old. I know you will cell plenty of Fitbit s to give a care but this is not a good business plan to continue to ignore customer base. Just my thoughts.

I have been able to use my Fitbit Versa with my Moto G6. I have not had issues with notifications. Notifications have been working consistently for me.

I do have all day sync and always connected  turned on. This does impact battery life, but it is worth it to me to charge the phone and the Fitbit more frequently if that keeps them working as they should.

Please tell me how you got it to sync. I can't get them to stay synct at all. I had all settings on but it would not sync with my phone and hold it. I have tried uninstalling and resreinstall but nothing seems to work. I appreciate any advise and help.

What version of Android do you have?  My Moto G6 is still on 8.0. That could be a difference

Moto G6 Play running Android 8.0.

Android 8 is what I am using, so that is not the issue. In fact, I saw a notification about Android 9 and have chosen not to follow up on it because of all the problems I see on this forum with Android 9 and Fitbit. I would do exactly what you have done, delete the app and start over with installation, but you have tried that and it didn’t work.

I really hesitate to suggest this, but have you tried calling customer service. I did that with my earlier phone and it was a bad experience. All I got was someone who only knew how to read a script that said my phone was not on the supported list. I ended the call and went to my social media account and told of my experience and my regret about buying Fitbit. I am sure I discouraged at least a couple of customers. Fitbit used to have great customer service, but now it seems not.

There is a thread Bluetooth Issues that was helpful to me. Also, it took several tries of uninstalling and reinstalling to get success. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to get your Fitbit to work properly and sympathize with you.

Hello everyone!

I apologize for the delayed response.

Thanks for taking the time to share all of those details with everyone.

If it doesn't work with your G6, maybe you could try using a different device to try and get your Fitbit to sync? It should definitely help in getting the information or determining what could be going on. While I understand it is not ideal, it is a workaround that could provide more details on the Fitbit itself.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for the response. I have tried several times to get the Fitbit Versa to stay synched to my Moto G6 Play. If it connects it does not hold for more than one or two updates and then it just wont stay connected. I am using several other devices such as my laptop and work cell, however this has to change because they do not like in approved apps on the phone. So now it only syncs with my laptop at home. I bought this device in hopes of being mobile and buying a new phone just for this issue is ridiculous at this point. I guess until Fitbit can up date this I will have to deal with it.

I upgraded my phone to the Moto G6 so I could get notifications to work on my Versa (Oops!). At first everything was great and I did not have any issues. In the last 2-6 weeks sync'ing has gotten progressively worse and now I cannot connect at all. I am fortunate enough to have a work supplied iphone and I can connect on a PC as well. I just prefer to leave my work phone at home when I can.

My issue is with the supported devices list though. I can look my phone up and I can see that mine is not supported. What I cannot do is look through a list of supported phones though, I have to look each phone up individually to determine if they are supported. I am fortunate enough to be able to afford a new phone, but I want to ensure it is compatible so I don't have the same issue. Do I have to look up each potential phone replacement individually? Or is there an actual list somewhere?

@SunsetRunner Glad to read that it is syncing with your laptop.

Well moderator I can't carry the laptop on a walk or run. I bought this so I could connect them .I even hesitated buying because I just didn't believe it would work right .I should have bought another device instead. UN happy customer here. Even have hard time on computer with conbectivcon issues on both wifi WiFi and direct connection using the charger. I love the Versa but I think my next one will be a Samsung or Microsoft watch. Fitbit doesn't care about my and others issues at all. Poor customer service 😢 I am glad they don't need my money.
