I manually add exercise and the "calories out" and "calories left" numbers go down. Shouldn't these numbers go up? I deleted the exercise and my numbers returned to the higher level. When i add the exercise again, the numbers go down. What's going on?

Hello @cleeredhead. Welcome to the Fitbit forums.
If you were wearing your tracker during your exercise, it already has recorded calories burned. If you the manually log an exercise session, that overrides what fitbit already recorded. I expect whatever you input or fitbit assumed for your manually input workout was lower than what fitbit had already recorded.
It is generally not a good idea to manually log an exercise when you were wearing the tracker. Manually logging is meant for the times when you might not have been wearing the tracker. Otherwise it usually leads to confusion.
You didn't mention which tracker model you have. Did it auto-recognize your workout before you logged it?

Aaaahhh. Yes, I was wearing my fitbit during the exercise. I forgot about the tracking vs exercise double-data-danger. Actually, forgot I had it on 'cause I wear it nearly all the time. Thanks for your super quick reply.
Sorry about the caps, and not mentioning my tracker model (flex -- an oldie that is still working great), and my phone app (android). I read the posting guidelines after my post -- I'll do better next time.
