Dear all,
unfortunately my Lumia 950 XL will not live forever and if there will be a Surface Phone, is an open story. So started to look for a replacement. Because a regular update of the operating system is a must, I focus on pure Android. There a some nice devices, but none is supported by Fitbit!
Why?
Bluetooth is a standard and Android has API's for hardware and operating system functions. So why is it so hard for Fitbit to support a version of Android on all hardware platforms? It seems to work on PC and tablets running with Windows 10. What is the problem with Android?
With kind regards
Till

@Tanutamun, there may be a "Pure Android" out there, but every single service provider implements its hardware in a unique way in oder for them to make a marketing statement. In fact, the same service provider implements Android differently in different models of their device. For example, have a HTC One M9, running Android 7.0 Marshmallow. And, later they released the HTC One M9+, also running Android 7.0 Marshmallow, which has an enhanced camera and some other neat features. But, some apps that run on the HTC One M9 will not run on the HTC One M9+. The slight hardware modifications they made in the phone models required them to modify the Android Operating System to handle them, but both models indicate they run Android 7.0.

I think this issue is coming as Android is releasing it's latest versions very fast and Fitbit is taking a little bit time to make it upgraded.
What is your preference for a new phone. Android or Windows? Now days Nokia Mobiles is also launching some Android phones. However, you can go for Samsung, Mi or Moto also.

one important feature is "fast security updates", therefore I prefer a device with pure Android, like Nokia 8 or Pixel....
