Why the Fitbit app asks for my location?

Why do I randomly get this message? I don't leave my location turned on my phone for several reasons. Most of the time sync works fine without it turned on. But sometimes it insists I turn on to sync, even though it can see my Sense as it shows my bpm, and cals burned without the complete sync. Can someone explain this flaky sync process? I never had this issue with my Versa 3.

Hi there, @Sumpnfishy. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums and sharing the details about the inconvenience with the Fitbit app.

For more information about this, please see Why is the Fitbit app prompting me to turn on location services?

I've moved your post to the Android App board for organization purposes.

This doesn't answer my question. It randomly asks for location services to be turned on. Sometimes it syncs without it turned on. Some items sync without location services on so it's obviously not necessary for the app to sync. So again, why do I need this turned on? I don't use any of the items listed in the link. What do I need to do to make this work consistenly each time? My Versa 3 did not have this issue.
