nope.
they're clearly in no hurry to fix it if they plan on doing it at all.
Sitting here with 4300 steps at 2 am and the widget says like 10 steps from when I opened the app before I even got out of bed.

The step goal circle widget now shows "Launch the app to to refresh activity data"
So far I've tried deleting all of the app storage, uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, and then reinstalling the app. No change.
This started yesterday after switching to "kid view" and back.
I'm running Android 8.0.0 on a Moto Z2 Force.

I only found out about the widget recently so put it on my home screen and it sometimes updates and sometimes doesn't. When I tap on the widget to open the app it goes to a blank screen and sometimes I can hit my back button and the app will open though the last three attempts tonight have done nothing. Just a blank screen and no update. AND now when I go and open the app from my app list I get the blank screen. I have a Pixel 3.
I'll try updating the app but other wise not interested in uninstall etc when the app was working fine before.

It’s good to see you in the community, @PHRoberts.
Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I recommend confirming if you've switched back to parent view:
1. Open the Fitbit app and tap the profile picture from the Today tab.
2. Tap Switch to Parent View, and confirm.
3. When prompted, enter your password.
For more information, see How do I see my child’s stats in the Fitbit app?
Hope this helps!

I was definitely not logged in to the child's account, but I tried logging back in and out. No change. Do you have any other suggestions?

Hi, the widget on the galaxy 9 plus just constantly says "launch the app to update activity data".
I have obviously done this and nothing happened. I have uninstall both the app and widget, I have synced, I have turned the phone on and off. Every conceivable way to refresh and relaunch has been tried, yet the widget does not change.

Mine was working till about a week ago, now the widget is dead and no way to resuscitate it.

I have been having the same problem for over a week now.

After I posted my issue the app seemed to shut down anyway and I had to reinstall - no idea what happened. After logging in again - which I might add was a very painful experience as I had to reset the password, I got the same as you DK1982 when I used the widget.
When I tapped the widget the app launched but the widget wouldn't do anything any more. I gave up.

Hi Tasoulery,
Yes, my widget stays blank too. Nothing updates.
Also having major issues syncing with My Fitness App. Constantly does not connect.
I have given up too.

Once the app updated the widget won't work. I've tried everything.

I have the same issue. The Widget says to "Launch App to update," but even if I restart or log off or Uninstall, it still says the same thing.

I'm having the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S9. Widget says launch app to update. I've removed widget, deleted app, restarted phone, reinstalled app then widget. None of this worked.
What's the point of the widget if you have to launch the app?

Thank you for your reply, @PHRoberts. It’s good to see you in the community, @poruatokin.
I appreciate your efforts and the additional details. I recommend checking the permissions of the Fitbit app: phone's settings > Apps> Fitbit. Please also try to delete the widget and install it again.
Hope this gets you back on track!

I also have the same issue. It was working on my old phone Samsung Galaxy Note 8 running Android 9. Its not working on my brand new Note 20 Ultra 5G running Android 11. The app works, the Versa syncs to the phone. The widget shows same as PH Roberts said" Launch the app to refresh activity data" tapping launches the app, but still no data in the widget.

On my phone all permissions are allowed except Calendar and Microphone.

I deleted the widget and reinstalled with no improvement. I also deleted and reinstalled the app again, paying particular attention to allow all of the permissions requested during the installation. Other than the widget, the app works well.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried prior to posting. I moved your post to the main board, in order to keep the forums organized.
I see where your disappointment is coming from. In this case, I'd like you to try the following troubleshooting, if you haven't done so:
- Remove the widget
- Log out from the Fitbit app
- Force quit it > Clear cache
- Restart the phone
- Log back into the Fitbit app
- Add the widget
Hope this helps.
