Won't stop sending me hourly move alarms

I asked this in the pixel watch community, but they said it's not their problem, I should ask here.
https://support.google.com/googlepixelwatch/thread/404810880?hl=en

I just bought a pixel watch 3, and connected it with the fitbit app on my pixel 8 pro.

I keep getting notices that I need to take more steps this hour.
I followed the directions for turning it off in the android app
device -> settings -> reminders to move -> turn off get reminders

and I keep getting those annoying alarms every hour, distracting me from what I'm concentrating on.

I am getting a note in there about it can't sync with my watch, even when I try to sync. I don't know if that is what is going on, even though it seems to get fitbit data off of my watch.

Hi, @ellarsee , if you can’t sync your Pixel watch then it won’t be able to reflect any changes you have made in the app!  If you solve the syncing issue then you should be able to stop those reminders to move (RTM) that are annoying you!

There are various troubleshooting steps for getting your watch syncing.  You might want to start by having a look at this YouTube video .

Other users have suggested that sometimes a failure to sync could be related to a time zone issue.  Have you checked that your timezone and location are correct in the app?  In the app navigate to your account settings (click on account icon top right of app “Today” page), go to Fitbit settings and check these details.

You also might like to have a look at other suggestions in this help article .  Although not specific to the Pixel Watch it should give you some insight in troubleshooting a Fitbit that won’t sync.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!
