Hi I am using my phone with the fitbit app to count my steps during walks/runs on my treadmill, but it calculates the wrong distance. It counts the steps correctly, and if I multiply my stride length with the steps recorded I get the roughly right distance, but the app shows a wrong distance. If I multiply the result with around 1.5 then I get the result displayed in the app.
I have compared fitbits app the the the top step countes in play store, and they all calculate roughly correct, why is fitbit showing the wrong distance?
This is very very frustrating, since I would like to use fitbit, and also purchase an charge 2/3, but it does not make sense to keep using the app and buying the charge, if I cannot get it to show the correct distance. Can someone help please.
Best regards,
André

Welcome to the Forums @André_Sorensen.
Thanks for sharing your findings with us.
It could be because of the stride length being used. Keep in mind that Fitbit can use a walking or running stride length. It is possible that the app is using the running stride length to get the distance and that's why there is a discrepancy.
Let me know if there are any other questions.
