Updates on my android phone now prevents regular syncing.  I have to remove battery and reinsert then it will sync once or twice and then still again. I also have a brand new zip that is doing the same thing.

Hi @NicoleMD12345

What version of Android are you using? It might be the reason for your difficulties.

When you're syncing the one Zip, is the other Zip in range? It might be causing a bit of confusion while syncing.

Let us know.

I am having the same problem with my Zip (just one Zip).  I called Fitbit support, they basically said if it synchs the first time then it is not their problem, it is a phone problem.

Everything worked fine prior to Monday.

My phone is a Samsung Galaxzy S9+ less than a year old and it worked fine before the latest update.

I took the battery out of the 1st Zip before testing the new one.

Did your android have an update ?

Yes.  I know that is what prompted the issue... but I still need to know how to resolve the issue.... or perhaps an update is required to the app to work with the update?

If your phone has received updates and your Fitbit no longer syncs you will want to remove the Fitbit app and install a fresh copy from the play store.

I have uninstalled the app and installed the app twice and still it syncs once or maybe twice and then not again until I pull the battery for a few seconds and then it syncs once and then nothing.  When I try to sync my phone gives a message that the tracker was not found when it is sitting right next to my phone.   This is happening with two different zips and everything we working perfectly fine until my phone did an update.  SO clearly the Fitbit software is NOT working with the new android update.  VERY FRUSTRATING!

Ditto.  I have uninstalled/re-installed many times and same issues.  I have AT&T cellular.

I also am with AT&T and a phone that is less than  a year old...

Oh well I guess we just get to live with it.

I might search for a different means to track my steps since the big companies don't seem to care.

The steps I do with a sync issue, which is different then a firmware update issue which I believe the original poster was describing.

With an Android phone.

Restart phone and tracker, with the latest update this has not worked for me, I don't try this lately

Clear the apps cache, try and sync

If fails I then clear the data, logging out/in will also work but clearing data also logs out and  does more.

If the above fails I then uninstall the Fitbit app.

This seems to be an issue with the latest update and the best fix s to wait for Fitbit to fix this.

Alternatively an older version may be installed, there are several free does that archive versions.

I have done all of the above suggestions and still have to pull the battery daily for my zip to sync.   VERY ANNOYING !

My zip now won't sync either with my phone or my Mac - it has turned into a piece of junk and given that I am in a competition where you need to log your mileage, this is SO frustrating!
