You mean you see km instead of miles and km/h instead of mph? You can change it in settings:
Tap your profile in the upper right corner on your today screen. → Tap "Fitbit settings" → Tap "App Settings"→ Tap "Length" Change to feet / miles

Neither miles, mph nor average pace will be correct unless you use a footpod. Unfortunately Fitbit does not support footpod. I don't know how the Fitbit calculates how far you have run on the treadmill. Something roughly similar would be steps * stride length, but my treadmill runs are consistently ridiculously short.

It just seems that Fitbit should be able to take the stride length or
GPS data (on your phone) and use the time of the walk or run to
calculate mph. All they need is distance and time. It may not be
completely accurate but a good indicator of your average pace. I also
use a Polar Beat to keep track of my heart rate. I think a lot of other
people would like some idea of mph during their exercise.
I have no idea why it is that when I put the previous app in Treadmill
mode during my walk, it showed average mph.

I just took a short walk and all the data is there- 24 minutes and 1.08 miles. Could they please just add in the simple formula min.s/60 and then take the mileage of 1.08 and divide miles by the mins./60? This yielded 2.7 mph. and it could be shown below the distance data. The user could choose imperial or metric as they do now.

Subject- pace in mph
Does the Fitbit management ever respond or make changes on subjects raised in the Forum?
