paired wrong Fitbit tracker

My original email address changed so I couldn't log in my existing account so I set up a new one but chose fit bit charge instead of hr...it won't connect obviously but how do I change to correct model?  Or better yet get into my old acct.

Hi @MommaTO, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community! Actually is very easy to resolve your concerns but are kind of tricky. So I'm going to try to be specific and breakdown each step for you.

 

About the old account: You mentioned your email address changed. If the changed was based on your email account, this won't affect your Fitbit account. Just go and log in using the same address and the same password you had and you'll gain access to the good old account.

 

Is possible to change the address to the new one, but you need to do a series of steps that might be a tricky task. This is because it won't let you to do this while your new address is connected to an existing account.

 

My recommendation if you want to keep using the old account.

 

- Log in using the new Fitbit account with the new email address.

- Change the email address to a different one that is not connected to any Fitbit account. (Spare email address you may have).

- Once you have removed the new address from the new Fitbit account. Log out and log back in, but this time with the old email address and password.

- Change the old email address now for the new one. This time will be possible since the address is not registered anymore with Fitbit.

 

These are the steps to change an email address: 


1. Sign in to your account at https://www.fitbit.com. Note that it's not possible to change your email address from the Fitbit app on your mobile device. You need to use a web browser.
2. When you're signed in, click the gear icon on the top right.
3. Click Settings and look at the Personal Info section.
4. Below Email Address enter a preferred email of your choice.
5. Type your password in the password field. 
6. At the bottom of the page, click Submit.

 

For your other question, is more easy and not that complicated, but keep in mind you won't have the old data. To change tracker if you choose the incorrect one, just try the process again and set up the correct one this time. For additional help, the following post might give you tips; just follow the steps  for Android and you;ll be good to go.
