"Show data from Health Connect" shows wrong data

The option "Show data from Health Connect" shows the wrong data, even tho the description of the option might make you believe that it'd display both data from Fitbit and health connect that actually doesn't appear to be the case, as selecting "Show data from Fitbit only' displays much more up to data information, I know in a couple hours the health connect data updates miraculously but I don't think I should have to wait two hours and manually refresh the device data multiple times

to get an accurate step count tbh

Try manually syncing your watch, if I sync my watch to my phone and then I sync the Fitbit app it loads the full data. The interval that the tracker sync seems to be a tad slow. It's probably done to save battery life though.

I don't have a tracker, I only use it on my phone so I'd expect the app to sync the data as soon as I open it

What app is tracking your steps on your phone?

You likely need to manually sync it by pulling down from the top of the screen with the app open

I'm using the Fitbit app itself to track my steps before I used Google Fit but the app kind of broke. so it doesn't really work for me anymore. but now that I switch to Fitbit, I'm often facing the problem that my steps don't update until a couple of hours later

Hello @Mattis.

Since you're only using the Fitbit app on your phone without a Fitbit device, you probably need to manually trigger syncing your phone in the app to see your steps

  • Tap the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • On the page that opens, tap on the Phone tile
  • On the next page that open, you can tap on the two circling arrows in the upper right to sync your phone to the app

yes but that's the whole point I'm trying to make, asking the user to manually refresh the data is just inconvenient, especially since simply pulling down from the screen actually doesn't seem to sync the phone's step data at all, the app should just automatically refresh the data whenever I open the app, and only refreshing automatically only every few hours just isn't often enough
