samsung A7 compatiblity Alta HR

I recently got a Fitbit Alta HR. After much confusion as to why it won't set up with my smartphone or computer, I learned it is not on the list of compatible devices (Samsung Galaxy A7 (2019)). Delighted I found out that I can still use my computer, but I require the Fitbit Bluetooth Dongle. My product did not come with a Fitbit Bluetooth Dongle.

I feel a bit cheated. How can I get Fitbit to update their software to make it compatible with Samsung Galaxy A7?

Hi @veedeeEee  the dongle doesn't come with the Fitbit, as it did in years previously, as there is bluetooth for most computers. Which computer do you have?

As an Android user, I was curious as to how many Android based devices were out there in use. This article - click to go there - was updated last month, but some of the stats are a bit older. In 2015, there were over 600 models launched and over 500 different carriers who offered them. It would be quite difficult, if not impossible, to check out each and every model from the various carriers. With Apple products, it's estimated that there are anywhere from eighteen to twenty-four different models over the past twelve years. Even so, that's a lot of phones to test and work with. I usually go with a phone right before the newer model comes out, so I'm generally a few years behind on phones. I have the Samsung Galaxy 8 (plus an older Android S4) and will probably stay with it until it no longer works. Sorry you're unhappy, but I'm not sure they will be updating software to work with all the variations of Android.

Hi @Odyssey13 . Thanks for the super fast reply!
PC's motherboard is X570-A Pro. I was so sure Bluetooth was a standard feature on computers, I didn't bother ensuring this mobo had when I bought it.
In the meantime I got my Alta HR up and running, this is what I did:
1. Installed the Fitbit app on a laptop (laptop that has Bluetooth built in).

2. Logged in, selected my user, chose to set up a new device.

3. Followed on screen prompts.

4. Fitbit updated firmware over Bluetooth.

5. Once the firmware was updated, the Alta HR now syncs with my Galaxy A7.
