hi, has anyone found that notifications don't work under the 3.3.1 version of the app with a surge? Has anyone found a fix?

Also email help asked me to update my app, and I've seen mention of 3.4 . Is this only for those with Apple phones?

Hi @FitterBro, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back!

I appreciate the details that were shared in your post. Let me share with you that the latest version of the Fitbit app for both Android and iOS users is 3.4, this is the reason why our Support team suggested you to update your app. To do so, please go to your Google Playstore, search for the Fitbit app and tap on update.

To better assist you with the notifications concern, can you please let me know which mobile device you're currently using? Also, when was the first time you experienced this? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to see that all the necessary requirements to receive notifications on your Fitbit Sure are correctly configured (One of the requirements is to keep the app up to date). After verifying this, please try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted.

@FitterBro,  I'm not sure but I do know that there is always a lag in the updates being released in the UK compared to the US.
